Let your senses experience tastes, smells, and sounds from afar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday: <\/strong>India<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday: <\/strong>Spain<\/p>\n<p>11 a.m.-1 p.m., Oleson Center Cafeteria<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday: <em>What\u2019s Up World:<\/em> <em>What\u2019s God Got to Do With it?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The Global Citizenship and Religion student group will facilitate this month\u2019s featured discussion topic of why it is important to understand different religions from around the world.\u00a0 What\u2019s Up World is a monthly student-led talk series that investigates current global topics.\u00a0 Join us for complimentary snacks in a living room setting and enlightening conversation.\u00a0 No prior knowledge on the topics is required.<\/p>\n<p>8:30 p.m.-10 p.m., East Hall Lower Study Lounge<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday: Global Literature Group: <em>Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood <\/em>by Trevor Noah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The NMC Global Literature Reading Group meets twice a year to discuss a book about the life in another culture. The group aims to bring together NMC faculty and staff from all departments and disciplines to stimulate critical thinking, literary pleasure, awareness of global diversity, and cultural interconnections. You can get this semesters featured book for $5 in the Osterlin Library.<\/p>\n<p>12-1 p.m., Scholars Hall 103<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday: Photo Contest Reveal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meet NMC Study Abroad students and hear examples of the benefits and impact of their experiences. Each year NMC sends approximately 60 students abroad. Join us as we attempt to understand significant cultural aspects such as; funerary practices on the Ganges, Buddhist culture of the north, the stratification of Indian society, arraigned marriages and the festive joy of annual religious celebrations&#8230;we may even offer you a taste of traditional Indian samosas!<\/p>\n<p>9:45 a.m.-11 a.m., University Center<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday: Movie and Popcorn Night: <em>Homecoming King<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Join us for a showing of Hasan Minhaj&#8217;s stand-up comedy show, <em>Homecoming King<\/em>. He shares the story of his life as an Indian-American Muslim and talks about many different subjects like racism, bullying, and growing up with the high standards of his immigrant parents.
