She can be reached at 995-1154 or\u00a0<a href=\"mailto: dpatterson@nmc.edu\">sshimek<\/a><wbr><a href=\"mailto: sshimek@nmc.edu \">@nmc.edu<\/a>\u00a0<\/wbr><\/p>\n<p>Shimek grew up in Leelanau County, and moved back after getting her degree in Public Health Education and Health Promotion at CMU. She was previously the Community Outreach Coordinator and Health Education Specialist for the Grand Traverse County Health Department.
