{"id":2494,"date":"2012-08-30T17:23:34","date_gmt":"2012-08-30T21:23:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=2494"},"modified":"2012-08-30T17:23:50","modified_gmt":"2012-08-30T21:23:50","slug":"mpsers-election-is-coming-9412","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=2494","title":{"rendered":"MPSERS election is coming 9\/4\/12!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Are you an active member of MPSERS? \u00a0Do you even know if you are???<\/p>\n<p>You are an active member of MPSERS (the state retirement system) if&#8230;..<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are an Adjunct Instructor, a Supplemental Employee, or a regular appointed staff or faculty member.<\/li>\n<li>You were paid by NMC in the last 12 months and had contributions to MPSERS.<\/li>\n<li>Your paycheck stub shows contributions to MPSERS and the MPSERS Healthcare Trust.<\/li>\n<li>You are\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span>\u00a0currently a MPSERS retiree.<\/li>\n<li>You are\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span>\u00a0a member of ORP (the Optional Retirement Plan with TIAA-CREF).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you meet the criteria shown above, you will have to make a decision between 9\/4 and 10\/26 as to how you want your pension handled, your pension contributions handled, and your retirement health care account handled. \u00a0The only way you can make this decision will be through your online <strong>MiAccount<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you already have a MiAccount, please be sure that you can access it &#8211; you may need to contact the retirement system to reset your password. \u00a0\u00a0miAccount<\/li>\n<li>If you do not have a MiAccount or can&#8217;t remember if you set one up, go online and follow the directions to find out. \u00a0\u00a0miAccount<\/li>\n<li>If you want help setting up your MiAccount, stop by the indicated computer lab within the following time frames &#8211;\u00a0<strong>be sure to bring your MPSERS Member ID number with you<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If you don&#8217;t have your MPSERS Member ID, you can request online that it be sent to you. \u00a0\u00a0miAccount<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Remaining MiAccount Help Sessions<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Fri, 8\/31\/12 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 8:30 &#8211; 10:00 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 O 113<br \/>\nFri, 8\/31\/12 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2:00 &#8211; 3:00 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 PS 204<\/p>\n<p>Governor Snyder will be signing this bill on Tuesday, 9\/4.\u00a0 If your MiAccount is set up and ready, you will be able to go online and see your MPSERS individual information and also use calculators on the MPSERS legislative changes to help you make your election decision.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Be prepared to make a decision &#8211; get your MiAccount set up now!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you an active member of MPSERS?
