{"id":169293,"date":"2026-09-15T13:48:53","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T17:48:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=169293"},"modified":"2026-09-15T13:48:53","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T17:48:53","slug":"office-of-innovation-entrepreneurship-student-funding-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=169293","title":{"rendered":"Office of Innovation &#038; Entrepreneurship student funding opportunity!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Applications due by October 15<\/h2>\n<p>Are you an NMC student who is launching a business or furthering an existing business, OR do you have an innovative idea that would be beneficial to campus and aligns to the NMC strategic plan (e.g., expanding learning opportunities, facilitating student success, creating organizational efficiencies, etc.)?<\/p>\n<p>If so, please <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScDLU-fnBniRTXeDt02d2LBFPJUNspArXRWpy8jbswB8_6qSQ\/viewform\">submit a proposal<\/a> to the Office of Innovation &amp; Entrepreneurship (OIE) by <strong>October 15, 2026<\/strong>. The top scoring proposals will move forward to a pitch competition on November 10, 2026. Awarded projects will typically receive between $500\u2013$4,000, sponsored by the NMC Foundation, the National Association of Community College Entrepreneurship Everyday Entrepreneur Program, and the NMC Experiential Learning Institute (ELI).<\/p>\n<p>The application link and more information can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.edu\/innovation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nmc.edu\/innovation<\/a><wbr \/>. ELI will be hosting an information session on September 28 from noon to 1 p.m. and free pizza will be served!<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in watching a community pitch competition, please join OIE at TCNewTech, hosted by 20Fathoms, on September 29 from 5:30\u20136:45 p.m. at the City Opera House in downtown Traverse City. This event is free, and you do not need to participate in the OIE application process to attend. All are welcome!<\/p>\n<p>Questions?
