Tech Tips is presented by our Technology Help Desk and will provide you with simple explanations to tech troubles you may come upon in everyday technology use. These posts will occur regularly and will include a wide variety of topics. The following is important information for students starting the spring semester.<\/p>\n

  1. For Students coming back this spring<\/strong>, if you don\u2019t remember your Self-Service Password Security Responses, be sure to go to NMCID Password Self-Service (once logged into MyNMC) on your \u2018My NMC employees\u2019 Service Links for employees page and reset your responses. Once you set and remember your password security responses it is recommended that you return to Password Self-Service whenever you need to change your NMC password.\"tech<\/li>\n
  2. Instructor emails on mail.nmc.edu<\/b> – Instructors may have both an employee account at @nmc.edu<\/em> email and a student account at @mail.nmc.edu<\/em>. \u00a0This is a reminder that both accounts exist, however, students need to use the Instructors’ \u00a0@nmc.edu<\/em> account as typically found on their syllbus. \u00a0If you use an Instructors \u00a0@mail.nmc.edu<\/em> account a notification will come back telling you to use the primary account address (@nmc.edu)<\/em>.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n
  3. Technology Support Services<\/b> – Check out the link on the Service Links sidebar to visit Technology Support Services or visit <\/span>employees.nmc.edu\/help<\/span><\/a> and find out more about Phone Discounts, Free Office 365 subscription, and more support.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n
  4. Jumpstart Guide<\/b> – We use the Jumpstart Guide (<\/span>students.nmc.edu\/jumpstart<\/span><\/a>) for Orientation and ResHall Students, but this guide will be very useful to many at NMC. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Anyone can refer students to the Jumpstart Guide for information on:<\/span><\/b>\n
