{"id":15332,"date":"2016-01-04T14:05:18","date_gmt":"2016-01-04T19:05:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=15332"},"modified":"2016-01-04T14:05:18","modified_gmt":"2016-01-04T19:05:18","slug":"board-of-trustees-recap-december-21-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=15332","title":{"rendered":"Board of Trustees recap- December 21, 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is an informal account of the Northwestern Michigan College Board of Trustees meeting Monday, December 21,\u00a02015, at the Oleson Center.<\/p>\n<p>Details on the actions items and reports are contained in the Board Packet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.edu\/about\/board-of-trustees\/agendas\/2015\/122115-Regular-Board-Meeting.pdf\">available online.<!--more--><\/a><span id=\"more-14911\"><\/span><span id=\"more-14399\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A full video of the meeting is available here:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XNiYH1XBchY\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trustees heard reports from the following areas:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Native American Coach Program with Todd Parker<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enrollment with Chris Weber<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Housing with Paul Wills from Plante Moran on proposed student housing development<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Financials with Vicki Cook<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NMC Foundation with Doug Bishop<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Legislative Issues with Tim Nelson<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No member of the public choose to address the board for comment. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The board approved the consent items which included minutes from the November meeting and SEIU 2016 Wage Re-opener proposal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trustees approved the following action items:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Board policies<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foundation Board Appointments<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Native American Grant Application<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The board went into closed session for an update on collective bargaining. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The board reconvened the public meeting and adjourned. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is an informal account of the Northwestern Michigan College Board of Trustees meeting Monday, December 21,\u00a02015, at the Oleson Center.
