{"id":152888,"date":"2024-02-07T08:02:46","date_gmt":"2024-02-07T13:02:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=152888"},"modified":"2025-04-16T10:55:44","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T14:55:44","slug":"six-eligible-to-fill-vacancy-on-board-of-trustees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=152888","title":{"rendered":"Six eligible to fill vacancy on Board of Trustees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TRAVERSE CITY &#8212; Six candidates are eligible to fill the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.edu\/about\/board-of-trustees\/index.html\">Board of Trustees<\/a> seat vacated by former trustee Rachel Johnson last month.<\/p>\n<p>The applicants, who must reside in Grand Traverse County, are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"two-column-text\">\n<li>Jordan Ascione-Broad, Traverse City<\/li>\n<li>Jamie Gallagher, Williamsburg<\/li>\n<li>Pamela Horne, Interlochen<\/li>\n<li>Mark Keely, Traverse City<\/li>\n<li>Bill Marsh, Traverse City<\/li>\n<li>Merek Roman, Traverse City<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Johnson resigned from NMC&#8217;s Board of Trustees effective Jan. 22. The new trustee will serve until the next regular community college election in November 2024. At that time voters will choose a candidate to serve the remainder of the term held by Johnson, which expires December 31, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the Michigan Open Meetings Act, interviews and the final appointment will be conducted by the full NMC Board of Trustees at a special meeting set for 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19 in the Timothy J.
