\"kayDr. Kay Harris joined NMC as\u00a0Curriculum and Instructional Designer on November 2, 2015. She can be reached at 995-1957 or\u00a0fharris@nmc.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kay was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in northern Michigan.\u00a0 She has traveled throughout the world and lived in many places in the United States.\u00a0 Proudly, Kay calls Traverse City her home having lived and raised her family here.\u00a0 Kay has two daughters, Meg Bye who is an artist living and running her own business in Seattle, and Cora Bye, who just completed her Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine living and working in the Lombard, Illinois area.\u00a0 Both daughters were married in the last year so Kay is proud to have two new son-in-laws, Matt and Garen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As a CMU grad, Kay earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Masters in Reading.\u00a0 She has taught literacy in elementary education primarily for Suttons Bay Public Schools as well as being an Associate Professor teaching literacy classes for CMU\u2019s Global Campus.\u00a0 Kay began the Ladder Program with CMU where she earned her Specialist in Education Degree in Higher Education and her Doctor in Education specializing in Educational Leadership.\u00a0 Kay is happy to become a member of the Northwestern Michigan College, Educational Media Technologies Team as a Curriculum and Instructional Designer.<\/p>\n

Kay enjoys kayaking, the great outdoors and travel.\u00a0 Now that her doctorate is finished, she is looking forward to traveling and enjoying all the world and NMC have to offer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
