{"id":12899,"date":"2015-06-29T14:42:01","date_gmt":"2015-06-29T18:42:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=12899"},"modified":"2015-06-29T14:42:01","modified_gmt":"2015-06-29T18:42:01","slug":"board-of-trustees-recap-june-22-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=12899","title":{"rendered":"Board of Trustees recap- June 22, 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is an informal account of the Northwestern Michigan College Board of Trustees meeting, Monday, June 22, 2015.<span id=\"more-10775\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Details on the actions items and reports are contained in the Board Packet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.edu\/about\/board-of-trustees\/agendas\/2015\/062215-board-regular.pdf\">available online.<\/a><!--more--><span id=\"more-11383\"><\/span><span id=\"more-11561\"><\/span><span id=\"more-12181\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A full video of the meeting is available here:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vkZJgg7MKkI\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Jason Dake was recognized as employee of the semester for his work at the Dennos Museum.<\/p>\n<p>Trustees approved the following items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.edu\/news\/2015\/06\/bot-approves-balanced-budget.html\">balanced budget for 2015-16 and tuition rates<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Repaving College Drive<\/li>\n<li>A purchasing card contract with Bank of America<\/li>\n<li>Engaging Smith, Haughey, Rice &amp; Roegge for certain legal matters<\/li>\n<li>Applying for a grant with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians<\/li>\n<li>Renewing the contract with SilkRoad human resources online service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The board went into closed session to discuss the collective bargaining negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>The board went into a second closed session to review the performance of NMC President, Timothy Nelson.
