Panelists include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sarah N. Douglas, Ph.D., assistant professor in MSU College of Social Sciences&#8217;s Department of Human Development and Family Studies<\/li>\n<li>Laurie L. Linscott, M.A.,director of Child Development Laboratories in MSU College of Social Science&#8217;s Department of&#160;Human Development and Family Studies<\/li>\n<li>Anthony J. Richtsmeier, M.D., associate professor&#160;in MSU College of Human Medicine&#8217;s Department of Pediatrics and Human Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that one in 68 American children are identified with autism spectrum disorders. Expanded awareness of the condition and the application of new diagnostic criteria have contributed to the increase in prevalence over the past 40 years. The panel will discuss its effect on individuals, their families, and the health care system.<\/p>\n<p>The Your Health Lecture Series is a collaborative community event sponsored by Northwestern Michigan College, Munson Medical Center, and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine &#8211; Traverse City campus.<\/p>\n<p>The Dennos Museum Center is located at 1701 E. Front St. in Traverse City.
