\"BigDraw4-JoyceAndGlenn\"As part of The Big Draw \u2013 Grand Traverse<\/strong>, the Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College presents the exhibition, It\u2019s Our World: Artists Inspired by Children\u2019s Visions of the Future<\/em><\/strong>, November 1, 2014 \u2013 January 4, 2015<\/span>. The exhibition features five local artists\u2013Dewey Blocksma, Nancy Crisp, Nancy Nash, Joyce Petrakovitz, and Glenn Wolff\u2013inspired by a child\u2019s artwork. Each artist chose one or more drawings created by a young visitor during Big Draw Day on October 4, to incorporate and recreate in the medium of their choice. Children ages 4-12 created drawings in response to questions about keeping the Earth clean as part of this year\u2019s Big Draw theme, It\u2019s Our World<\/strong>. The exhibition will feature the artists\u2019 interpretations, the original drawings from the children, and a digital slideshow of drawings and events that took place as part of The Big Draw\u2013Grand Traverse.<\/p>\n

The Big Draw\u2013Grand Traverse partners include the Dennos Museum Center, Artcenter Traverse City, Blackbird Arts, SCRAP TC, Oliver Art Center, NMC Art Club, NMC Extended Education Services, SEEDS, Grass River Natural Area, Art Rapids!, Jordan River Arts Council, and Grand Traverse Conservation District. This exhibition is supported by the Linda O\u2019Meara Fund for Arts Education.<\/p>\n

Exhibitions at the Dennos Museum Center are supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, the National Endowment for the Arts, The Art and Mary Schmuckal Fund, the Robert T. and Ruth Haidt Hughes Memorial Endowment Fund, TV 7&4, Northern Express, and WCMU Public Broadcasting.<\/p>\n

The Dennos Museum Center is open daily 10 AM to 5 PM<\/span>, Thursdays until 8 PM<\/span>, and Sundays 1-5 PM<\/span>. Admission is $6\/person ages 13 and up; $4\/person ages 3-12; and free for members and NMC students with ID.
