Kudos to the Public Relations Team– Northwestern Michigan College’s newest publication, Nexus, has been named the top community college magazine by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations.

Produced by NMC’s Public Relations, Marketing & Communications department, Nexus received the 2017 gold Paragon award from NCMPR at its annual conference. The magazine was commended for its strong NMC success stories shared with a broad audience in a compelling visual presentation.

Kudos to the Commitment Scholarship Team, Kevin D’Alessandro, Pam Palermo, Scott Herzberg, and Judy Druskovich, for their wonderful work with future NMC students. It takes a great deal of organization and commitment to provide tours and information to all of our visitors. The Team represents NMC very well! Thank you.

Kudos to the Facilities Crew and Rob Rider and Cathy McCall for their assistance in the relocation of the Tutoring Center to the 2nd floor of Osterlin. Also a huge thank you/kudos goes to Cathy McCall for the coordination and assistance with our move. Thank you.

OUTDOOR YOGA

July 16, 2018 at 12 noon- Main Campus outside of Founders Hall

Outdoor Yoga with Instructor Stephanie Prall. This 20-minute yoga class will be appropriate for all levels of mastery. We encourage you to wear clothes that allow for bending and stretching; however, full athletic attire is not required. The intent is to provide everyone an opportunity to enjoy the summer weather and wake up your body.

Why try yoga? Workout fads come and go, but virtually no other exercise program is as enduring as yoga. It’s been around for more than 5,000 years. Yoga does more than burn calories and tone muscles. It’s a total mind-body workout that combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and meditation or relaxation. There are more than 100 different forms of yoga. Some are fast-paced and intense. Others are gentle and relaxing.

Founders Hall 110 will be our alternate location in the event of rain.
