On Wednesday, October 1, the Michigan Global Awareness Consortium will offer the first presentation of its fall series. We are pleased to welcome Carole Elchert, a photographer, educator, and explorer, who has traveled extensively to many countries including Iceland.

Please join us to hear Carole explain Iceland’s approaches to the issues that face the rich and poor, and the large and small countries around the world.  Her presentation will  focus on: how to preserve the environment and develop resources; how to increase literacy; how to reduce poverty while increasing wealth; how to protect the freedom of information and privacy rights; how to eschew war in a well-armed modern world; how to revitalize with the great literature of the past—“The Icelandic Sagas.”

The 6:00 — 7:30 pm event in Scholars Hall 109 (Auditorium) is free and open to the public.
