VJE is a small ensemble of men’s and women’s voices that rehearses and performs vocal jazz works in a variety of styles including standards, swing, ballads, Latin and contemporary. Students will develop skills in vocal jazz styles, blending harmonies, microphone technique, improvisation and jazz theory. This course can be taken for academic credit or through the Extended Education program (more affordable).
This ensemble offers students a fun and enriching music experience, as well as a place to get to know and connect with other students. The class meets at the University Center on Tuesday evenings from 7 – 9 p.m. Email the Director, Mike Davis for more information: mdavis@nmc.edu
