Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) and Davenport University (DU) have formed a new transfer degree agreement that expands upon the long-time partnership the two institutions share. NMC students who earn an Associate of Science and Arts degree can transfer their credits to DU toward a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting Fraud Investigation.

“Partnering with Northwestern Michigan College is a huge plus for Davenport University,” said Dr. Richard Pappas, President of Davenport University. “This expanded agreement gives students who are interested in accounting fraud investigation the opportunity to continue their education and advance their careers in the accounting field.”

“This is a great example of the continuing effort of the Northwestern Michigan College – University Center partners to collaborate with our associate programs to bring great options that save time and provide new pathways for all our learners,” stated Marguerite Cotto, Vice President for Lifelong and Professional Learning at NMC.

According to the AICPA, forensic accounting is the fastest growing area of accounting today due to the greater financial security required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the widespread recognition of financial risk, and the additional growth that will occur with economic recovery. Students interested in the transfer degree would take 26 courses at NMC and transfer those credits to DU to take an additional 12 courses for a total of 120 credit hours. Classes begin Sept. 3 and will be offered at NMC’s University Center location.
