Munson Medical Center will manage a child care program and provide all related services at Northwestern Michigan College starting this fall. Space has been identified in the college’s Oleson Center for Continuing Education on the main campus at 1701 East Front Street in Traverse City.
Initial plans are for the service to be provided between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and would accommodate approximately 32 children at a time. Child care will be available for those aged three or four and early five year olds.
NMC and Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District students studying child care will gain experience working with the children on a curriculum designed to prepare children for kindergarten.
