Kudos to the Dental Assisting students and faculty (Dental Assistant students were Ashley Carlson, Stephanie Covert, Ashleigh Henigan, and Holly Koening. Faculty were Alison Collins and Beckie Wooters) who helped to set up an event center at Macomb Community College in Warren, MI the 2nd week of June. On June 10th and 11th they helped provide free access to dental treatment for over 1200 patients. The dental assistant participants from NMC assisted with oral surgery, pediatrics, sterilization, patient registration, and patient education.
Kudos to Tina Ulrich, Michele Howard, Joelle Hannert, and EMT Staff: Tina Ulrich and her co-presenters prepared an energetic, hands-on training session on Monday, 6/13 and Tuesday, 6/14 regarding utilization of Open Educational Resources in NMC course development. Their handouts were very helpful (particularly Ryan Bernstein’s OER decision-making flowchart) and the LibGuide created by Tina, Joelle, and Michelle was comprehensive and highly informative: http://nmc.libguides.com/oer.
