Graduation-300x206Many thanks to the NMC employees who made Commencement a special day for our graduates!  It truly takes the NMC community to make this event a memorable one.  A special hats off to:

Linda Glaesmer and the Facilities crew, who hauled all the stuff, set up the stage and all those chairs, tore it all down, and ensured everything got back to the correct NMC office;

Chris Weber for leading the committee meetings, organizing the Faculty line, and keeping everyone focused on the meaning of this special day, and Sheila Rupp who jumped in after only 2 weeks on the job!

Cindy Deemer, Julie Hansen, Julie Clary and Lina dos Santos Barbosa for all the assistance with mailings, RSVPS’s, student calls, medal assembly, coin assembly, booklet assembly, graduate check-in, commencement set-up and clean-up, and anything else asked of them.  You are the best team ever!

Holly Gorton, Kristina Jackson and Lynne Moritz for organizing the regalia, speech edits and other needs of the President, Board of Trustees and the platform party;

Meg Young for producing the program and making last minute edits with grace, and also leading the assembly of inserts and challenge coins for the degree covers;

Cari Noga for literally writing the day by composing and editing all the speeches;

Diana Fairbanks for arranging photography and media coverage of the ceremony;

Kyle Morrison, Dennis Schultz and Alan Beer for their wizardry in the sound booth and with all things technical;

Miku Crouch, Taylor Nash, Cindy Deemer and Julie Hansen for guiding the graduates through check-in and getting organized to walk;

Irina Grougan for coordinating the flowers and Phi Theta Kappa student regalia, as well as managing the Honors Convocation;

Shayrrl McReady for ensuring that all graduates found their seats, and pitching in on anything else needed, from name pronunciation to clean-up;

Carly McCall, Amanda Gower, Paul Schoppe and Foundation Board Member Bruce Byl for greeting and ushering all of our guests;

Betsy Coffia and Rebecca Teahen for caring for the Outstanding and new Alumni, and Katharine Zurek for helping at the Alumni table;

Jason Smith for coordinating the flags for our international students;

Pat Brumbaugh for coordinating the band equipment set-up/tear-down and conducting the great music.  Everyone loved that Sousa march!

Leanne Baumeler for interpreting the entire event in sign language;

Sarah Mavis for managing the student cap & gown orders;

Rita Kucera for coordinating recognition plaques and assisting throughout the day;

Jim White for providing an emergency plan and security (and the bullhorn!);

Patrick Tesner and the Sodexho team for the setup and provision of the wonderful treats for the Reception;

NMC student Annalisa Wiesner for beautifully singing the National Anthem;

And to all our Faculty and Staff who support, encourage and cheer for our students each and every day!

You all have my heartfelt gratitude,
