Tech Tips is presented by our Technology Help Desk and will provide you with simple explanations to tech troubles you may come upon in everyday technology use. Another year at NMC is coming to a close, and whether you are just taking the summer to regroup before hitting the books again in the fall, or moving on to bigger and better things, it is important to finish everything off before taking that well deserved breath. Finals always take center stage as they should this time of year as well they should, but below we have a “Taking Care of Business” checklist for all the other little things you need to do before kicking back and enjoying the sunshine.

MyNMC and Campus Technology

  • †Moodle: Be sure to save or print all materials you want to take with you from Moodle before classes get taken down in the summer.
  • Email: Whether you are returning or not, your mail.nmc.edu Gmail account will remain open. Be sure to forward and save any correspondence you may need for later.
  • Google Applications: Be aware that your Google Applications such as Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts and other applications are available through your mail.nmc.edu account even after you leave NMC.
  • Web Help Desk: Enter or check the status of tickets through the Technology Help Desk or feel free to call us at 995-3020.
  • Self-Service: Be sure to enroll or un-enroll from Code Red using the Text opt-in, opt-out service, and if you are returning take a look at some of the new applications such as the Ellucian Mobile a new grade monitoring service rolling out now. If you are leaving NMC, Self-Service will be available for you to come back and access.
  •  Microsoft Office 365 Offer: NMC Office 365 Free for Students.
  • Media Tech: Remember to turn in to the appropriate departments all rentals and checkouts before the end of the term including software, robots, Camera or laptop checkouts, library books, etc.
