The NMC Children’s Choir’s oldest group, Cantus, returned to TC on Sunday, April 12, following a very successful tour to New York City. Our singers were invited to perform in New York with the St. Joseph’s University Singers as well as compete in the prestigious Big Apple Classic Music Festival. Our singers enjoyed many of New York’s wonderful landmarks including: the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the 9/11 Memorial, Central Park, and Times Square. While in NYC, our singers also saw a performance of “Phantom of the Opera” and were able to do a workshop with some of the performers from the show. The highlight of the trip were our two wonderful performances. Our singers impressed audience members and adjudicators alike, earning a Gold Medal and 1st Place in the Junior Division.
