For all faculty and staff: There will be two Critical Incident Management training sessions available on Feb 6. College faculty and staff are paramount to the protection of our students in a crisis, being the first line of defense. Faculty and staff will receive instruction in immediate reaction to responses of violence, school lock-downs, bomb threats, shelter-in-place to minimize hazardous material incidents, and hostage survival. These trainings include school security relating to visitor identification, faculty and staff identification and the need for control of school access through a single point of entry.

Locations and times for our two trainings are as follows:

  • Morning Training:  At the Hagerty Conference Center, 715 E. Front St, Traverse City, MI 49686, in the ballroom, from 10:00-11:30 AM
  • Afternoon Training: At the University Center, 2200 Dendrinos Dr. Traverse City, MI 49686, in the UC, room 215/217, from 1:00-2:30 PM

Each of the trainings will last approximately an hour and a half. Please note that there is limited space at the UC training, while the Hagerty Center will provide more room for more attendees.

Information about the credentials for our Critical Incident Management trainer, Thomas Mynsberge, can be found here.
